ROYAL ASCOT

5:00 Wokingham Handicap

Lexington Dash  (Tom Marquand)

He’s plenty high enough in the weights and a stiff 6 furlongs here will really suit, but he didn’t handle the soft ground at Epsom last time, and obviously I’m extremely concerned about the conditions again so will be keeping an eye on the weather and the ground before making a decision if he will run. He’s drawn right down the middle of the track which is probably a good place to be and he’s been in good shape at home so will hopefully go well.

5:35 Golden Gates Handicap

Sir Rumi (David Egan)

He’s very quickly developing into a smart colt and was really impressive up at Haydock last time of which he got put up 5lbs. This is a competitive race but he is in very good form at home and had he's racing very well therefore I’m confident of a bold show.

River Alwen (Jamie Spencer)

He’s done nothing wrong in six starts to date and ran a great race at Newbury last time of the same mark as this. I thought he worked nicely last week with Chindit and Dingle because he’s not a particularly flashy horse at home but he gets the job done and he is very adaptable to any sort of ground.

Dingle (Hollie Doyle)

We thought he’d go pretty close at Sandown last time in the Esher But things just didn’t pan out for him and he never really landed a blow but he is a very smart horse and I think he will improve for the step up in trip. He’s off a career high mark but has got plenty of ability and I can see him running a huge race at decent odds.

NEWMARKET

1:40

Lusail

He didn’t handle the ground at Pontefract last time and seemed to get quite tired on it so the quicker conditions here will be better and he’s a smart colt by Mehmas who looks to have a bright future. He’s got a penalty to carry but he’s a big strong horse who should be able to cope with that and I’m hopeful of a good run stepping up in trip.

2:45

Mummy Bear

Bar a blip at Wolverhampton on her penultimate start she’s generally been quite consistent and this will be the first time she’s running over 6 furlongs since she won at Kempton in March. I’ve been happy with her at home and this is quite a realistic race for her.

3:20

Model Actress

She ran a great race on her return a couple of weeks ago when she would’ve probably needed it as well. The ground isn’t an issue and I don’t think the track will be a problem because she proved she handled Goodwood and she’d be one of our best chances of the day.

Aboard The Beagle

She is a nice filly by Mayson who’s been working well at home but she’ll definitely improve for the experience and this looks a pretty tough introduction.

3:55

Kool Moe Dee

Five furlongs on fast ground is just what he wants and he’s gradually coming back down the weights again but he does appear to look up against it in what looks pretty good handicap.

4:30

Typhoon Ten

He is a tough and consistent horse who rarely runs a bad race and has a great attitude to life. Luke takes a valuable 7lbs off his back and I see no reason why he can’t go very close; he certainly deserves to get his head in front for sure!

LINGFIELD

7:50

Foden

He ran very green at Wolverhampton on his debut but still looks to show plenty of ability and that experience will have done him a lot of good. I was happy with his work on Wednesday and he goes there with a rock solid chance.

Double Denim

She’s got to step up considerably on what she’s shown so far, although the soft ground might have been against her at Goodwood last time, but I do think she’ll be better once handicapped.

HAYDOCK

7:05

Al Shibli

I’ve always liked this colt and he did just what we expected at Chester last time when winning very easily. I do think he could end up a very high-class horse and he’ll take plenty of beating here.

7:35

Mickydee

I don’t think he’s quite been seeing out the trip so the step down in distance is a big help and the handicapper has given him some leniency too. He’s been in really good form at home and I’ll be surprised if he is not capable of making his presence felt.

8:05

Fox Power

He’s been in good form all season and is starting to look quite well handicapped. He hasn’t one for a while but has posted some decent efforts in defeat and this looks a pretty suitable opportunity for him; put it this way, there aren’t really any excuses.

8:35

Tamyeez

We are stepping her up in trip for her handicap debut and a mark of 71 looks fair. In all three runs she’s shown enough ability to suggest she should be taken very seriously in this.
