NEWMARKET

Best Rate (Ryan Moore)
He was quite ring rusty on his first run back at Kempton, but that has sharpened him up nicely and his work has been good. This is his first time racing on turf, but that isn’t a worry and a stiff mile at Newmarket will suit.

Local Hero (Ryan Moore)
All three of his wins have come on the all-weather at Kempton, but he’s fully effective on turf, and he’ll love the ground. He’s got a decent turn of foot and isn’t short of pace, so there’s plenty to like about him, and he has a great chance in what looks a very competitive Handicap.

Circe (Ryan Moore)
I fancied her on both starts so far this season, and she has been unlucky to bump into one, but she’s a smart filly who has plenty of speed, so we’re dropping back a furlong, and hopefully it will be enough to see her get the job done. There aren’t any excuses; put it that way.
GOODWOOD

Logi Bear (Sean Levey)
I was delighted with his debut at Leicester last week, where he was very green but stayed on nicely. That will have brought him on a lot, and I’d be expecting him to go extremely close.
Secret Santa (Pat Dobbs)
He has a very speedy pedigree, being out of Gilded, who won the Queen Mary for us, and a half-brother to Xanthe, who scored on debut, so there’s plenty to like on paper. He will come on for the run but is sharp enough to do himself justice, and his work is to a good standard.
Shetakesthegold (Tyrese Cameron)
She’s run to a fair level in both starts to date but will have a Handicap mark after this, and that is where her future lies.

Al Arbeed (Sean Levey)
I like him and am hopeful that he can develop into a smart colt. His run at Newmarket was satisfactory, but he’s ready for a step up to a mile, and, hopefully, he can run a nice race in what looks like a very hot conditions event.
