THE yard continues to be in great form and it was nice to enjoy a few winners at Goodwood last week, because those are the meetings everyone wants to have success at and I was particularly pleased with Magical Sunset who bounced back to form in the Oak Tree Stakes. Soft ground is obviously key to her but there are still plenty of options towards the end of the season when she’s likely to get her favoured surface. She’s in the QEII, which might be a little ambitious but if the ground is very soft, there’s every chance she could go there, but, as I say, we aren’t short of options at that time of year.

Baheer ran well in the Molecomb but just didn’t handle the ground. He’s still in the Gimcrack, but there is also a five furlong Listed race at York the same week and he’ll go wherever the ground is quickest.

Haatem has come out of the Vintage Stakes in great form and there’s a possibility he could head over to Ireland for a crack at the G1 National Stakes and Rosallion is definitely heading to Doncaster for the G2 Champagne Stakes before, all being well, a tilt at the Dewhurst.

Chindit was forced to miss the G1 Sussex Stakes owing to the ground, but all being well, he’ll go to Newbury for the Hungerford Stakes next Saturday.

HAYDOCK

Dawn Of Liberation (Sean Levey)
He ran no sort of race at York last time, and I’m not entirely sure why, but he is a horse with plenty of ability and the Handicapper has dropped him another 5lbs. The return to a mile should suit and if he can find his form, he’s not without hope.

System_ (Hector Crouch)
She badly needed her first run back at Goodwood last time, so that will have blown away the cobwebs. This is a tough race but her work has been fine and she has a valid each way shout.

Heredia (Sean Levey)
I think she’s ready for a step back up to a mile because she missed the break at Chelmsford last time but finished her race really well, and this long straight will suit. It’s a hot little race but on ratings she is entitled to be bang there and she’ll like the ground.

Glory Sky (Sean Levey)
She’s improved with each run and I was impressed with her attitude at Kempton last time. This is her first start in a Handicap and it will be interesting to see if 72 is a realistic mark

Heartfullofstars (Pat Dobbs)
She’s a lovely, good moving filly by Starspangledbanner who has been showing up nicely in her work and I’ll be disappointed if she’s not capable of winning a Maiden. I expect her to come on for the run, but the ground should be lovely at Newmarket and she won’t disgrace herself.

Magic Light (Danny Tudhope)
She was disappointing at Windsor last time, but a reproduction of her excellent effort before that would see her in with a decent chance. She’s stepping up a furlong and going into Nursery Company for the first time so will hopefully get her career back on track.

Marroof (Pat Dobbs)
He was quite keen at Goodwood, and just didn’t get home on the ground, so the quicker surface here should see him in a better light, but he’s starting to become a little frustrating.

Major Major (Pat Dobbs)
He showed a good attitude to score at Lingfield last week and turns out again pretty quickly here, but he handles his racing well and has a solid each way shout.

Signcastle City (Pat Dobbs)
He paid the price for pulling too hard on soft ground at Newmarket last time, but he’s still unexposed over this trip, and when things go his way he’s a very talented horse. This is his second run since being gelded and I wouldn’t be surprised to see him bounce back.
