QATAR GOODWOOD FESTIVAL – WEDNESDAY
3:05 G1 Visit Qatar Sussex Stakes
Rosallion (Sean Levey)
I still haven’t got over his defeat at Royal Ascot but apart from not getting his nose on the line where it mattered, he still showed he retained all his ability and, as we expected, he improved from his first run of the year in the Lockinge.
Everything has gone very well since Newbury and we even took him back there for a piece of work a week or so ago, which will have done him plenty of good.
The ground should ideal and he’s won a Group One as a two-year-old and three-year-old so we really need him to win one at four!
He’s as good as we can get him at home and as good a miler as we’ve had here so hopefully he’s up to beating the hot favourite, who, I must admit, has looked exemplary this season.
4:20 Fillies’ Conditions
Lebron Power (Sean Levey)
She got boxed in at a crucial stage in a decent Listed race at Sandown but it showed she is a capable filly and backed up her impressive Maiden win on debut.
She’s got a lot of pace, so a sharp five furlongs at Goodwood will be right up her street, and she has a rock-solid chance.
4:55 Handicap
Signcastle City (Jamie Spencer)
The Handicapper isn’t relenting much and probably has the measure of him so there’s no room for manoeuvre off his current mark, but he’s generally consistent and could easily reward each way support if getting some luck.
ELSEWHERE
We’ve got a two runners elsewhere including Hello Isla who takes her chance in the 6:28 at Leicester. She ran well enough on debut and has come on a bit since then so hopefully she’ll run a nice race and Magician Of Riga ran in a very good Novice on debut and returns to the same track in the 6:50.
