DONCASTER – WEDNESDAY
3:30 Leger Legends Stakes
Flying Dragon (Adrian 'Trotter' Nicholls)
We’ve kept him pretty busy because he handles his racing very well and is as consistent as they come. He receives 5lbs for being a three-year-old, so I hope Trotter hasn’t put on too much weight since retiring from the saddle! Seriously though, he ran well in a hood for the first time at Salisbury so we’re keeping it on and hopefully he can run a big race with the trip and ground in his favour; as for the jockey……!!
4:45 Conditions Stakes
Walkinthesand (Ryan Moore)
He actually ran better at Haydock on Saturday than the form figure may suggest as he got outpaced once they quickened into the straight but stayed on nicely to finish his race well which suggests to me he’s better over further than eight furlongs so we’re going back up to a mile and a quarter and I think the quicker ground will help, too. I know he’s out again pretty quickly after the weekend but he’s lightly raced and has the right constitution to handle it so I’m quite hopeful he can run a huge race.
We’ve got several other runners for the rest of the week including Manigordo and a few more in the Weatherbys Sales race and Cloak Of Spirits will line up in the May Hill, both on Thursday.
