QATAR GOODWOOD FESTIVAL – WEDNESDAY
1:50 Handicap
Mugader (Hayley Turner)
He won nicely at Doncaster last time over a bit further than this, and were dropping down in trip here, but he’s not short of pace and we’ll make plenty of use of him and try and make it a decent test. A 7lbs raise in the weights won’t make things easier but he’s got form around the track and is improving all the time.

2:25 G3 Oak Tree Stakes
Heredia (Sean Levey)
She’s always been a very good filly but we have to monitor her bloods closely and after Sandown last time we discovered that they weren’t right which explains the disappointing run. However they’re absolutely spot on now and she’s been in great form at home. Sean rode her in a piece of work last week and was very happy so I’m hopeful she can regain the winning thread. There should be plenty of pace so I’m not concerned about the drop back to seven furlongs.
3:00 G3 Molecomb Stakes
Trillium (Pat Dobbs)
She’s a very good filly who stepped up from her first run to her second when bolting up at Newbury in fine style. That was over six furlongs but she’s got a fantastic turn of foot, as you saw last time, so I’m not worried about going down to five furlongs and she receives a bit of weight as well for being a filly. As you’d expect, it’s a competitive Molecomb but she wouldn’t be running unless I didn’t think she could make her presence felt.

3:35 G1 Sussex Stakes
Chindit (Pat Dobbs)
He had a nice confidence boosting win at Ascot last time which he deserved because he’s run some very good races in defeat. Obviously it’s going to be pretty much impossible to beat Baaeed but there’s good prize money on offer and hopefully he can sneak into a place. He’s in good form at home and has valuable experience over course and distance.
4:10 Fillies’ Handicap
Rousay (Hollie Doyle)
She’s a tough little filly with a great attitude who ran well under the circumstances at Salisbury last time, over 1m2f, and I think she’s ready for a step up in trip. Her owners love coming here and have enjoyed plenty of success and I’d like to think there is still plenty more to come her.

4:45 Conditions Stakes
Cruise (Cieren Fallon)
She’s a very smart filly who ran well on debut at Newmarket, despite running with the choke out for much of the way, but that will have done her plenty of good mentally and physically and the drop back in trip can only be a plus. She’s owned by Qatar Racing who want lots of runners here and I’m hopeful that she can provide them with a winner. I like her a lot.
5:20 Handicap
Mums Tipple (Sean Levey)
I was very pleased with his run at Newmarket last time and he seems to continue to be in fine shape at home. The Handicapper has kept him on 92 so he could still be very well treated. Fast ground suits and he must have a great chance if he can back up his latest run.
Windseeker (David Egan)
He was a little bit disappointing at Salisbury last time (when Rousay was fourth) but he’s better than that and I think he’ll be more comfortable back down to seven furlongs. His best form is on Good to Firm which he has here so he shouldn’t be entirely discounted.
