NEWMARKET

1:40 Tattersalls Auction Stakes

Risqué (Darragh Keenan)

This is a valuable prize and a race we’ve got a pretty decent record in so hopefully this filly can run well because she should handle the ground and has plenty of experience. Obviously you can never be confident in something like this but she’ll give it her best shot.

2:45 G1 Sun Chariot Stakes

Billesdon Brook (Sean Levey)

As I said to the guys who came down in the week she is probably a 10lbs better horse at Newmarket and the straight mile seems to really suit her. We moved her back up to Herridge to give her another change and she’s quite a keen going horse so we don’t need to do a great amount of work with her and I see no reason why she can’t run another big race on ground that won’t be a problem.

Cloak Of Spirits (Andrea Atzeni)

I was delighted to see her win last time because she really deserved to get her head in front after some solid efforts in defeat and she’s come out of that race in great shape. Sheikh Obaid let me choose what race to run her in so I thought we may as well go for this and hope for some luck. She is a very elegant looking filly with a lot of class and as long as the ground is not too testing I’m confident she can go well.

4:30 Fillies’ Handicap

Theotherside (Sean Levey)

I think the ground caught her out last time so I would be hoping for some dry weather for her but we’re unlikely to get that so we’re going to give it a shot anyway because we are coming to the end of the season and she’s in great form at home. The step up to seven furlongs is what she’s been crying out for and while she’s got plenty of weight she’s a tough filly and very consistent.

REDCAR

1:10 Novice

Candace (Dane O’Neill)

She’s a nice well bred filly by Dutch Art who shouldn’t have any problem if the ground is soft and her work has been good. I expect her to improve for the run but this looks a very good starting point and hopefully she can run a nice race.

2:50 Guisborough Stakes

Qaysar (Rossa Ryan)

He’s a very tough horse who is versatile and rarely runs a bad race. His form is there for all to see and this looks a nice opportunity for him stepping back down to 7 furlongs.

3:25 Listed Two-Year-Old Trophy

Collinsbay (Tom Marquand)

I must admit I’m amazed he’s still a Maiden and to be honest he’s started to become very frustrating because he probably should have won at Chelmsford last time. Hopefully the drop back down to six, and some give in the ground, could see him in a better light because he’s a very capable colt and I certainly wouldn’t be surprised to see him bang there.

Concessions (Sam Hitchcott)

She disappointed last time so needs to put that run behind her but she’s a classy filly in her own right and if she can get some luck hopefully she gain some valuable Black Type.

Kool Moe Dee (Dane O’Neill)

I don’t think he really handled Chester last time but I do think he’s the type of horse that can run a very big race in this because he’s got lots of experience and has a touch of class and seems to go on any ground. I wouldn’t be writing him off at decent odds with Unibet.

4:35 Handicap

Hot Summer (Rossa Ryan)

He can be a little bit sulky but has plenty of talent and if he can get a nice easy lead I wouldn’t be surprised to see him bounce back after a below par run last time. I wouldn’t want the ground to be too soft for him but as long as it’s not to the extreme I’m hopeful he can put in a decent show.

WOLVERHAMPTON

5:25 Handicap

Headshot (Thore Hammer Hansen)

He got into no end of trouble last time on what was his first run since having a small wind operation but if he can get some better luck this time round I would be extremely hopeful, especially with his jockey’s claim and the step up in trip also in his favour.

Myboymax (Mark Crehan)

He’s coming down the weights and going up in trip which I suppose tells its own story with regard to his chance in this.

5:55 Novice

Shalanez (Thore Hammer Hansen)

She’ll improve massively on her first run when she was very green and the penny only dropped in the closing stages. The step up a furlong should also help and she has a fantastic chance here.

8:30 Handicap

The Cincinnati Kid (Thore Hammer Hansen)

He needs to break from the stalls much quicker because he is very, very lazy leaving them which means he’s constantly making up ground so I’m hoping to step up in trip should give him chance to get into a nice rhythm and hopefully he can begin showing what I know he is capable of. He’s not useless.
