CHESTER – WEDNESDAY
1:45 Lily Agnes Stakes
Armor (Ryan Moore)
He did what we expected on debut at Doncaster last month and he’s definitely come on a lot for it as well. He is a very sharp horse who should be suited by this track. Ryan was on board last time so it makes sense to keep him in the plate here and he goes there with a massive chance.
3:15 G3 Chester Vase
Fancy Man (Sean Levey)
He will definitely strip fitter for his first run of the season at Newmarket and the more rain that falls the better for him. He’s always been a colt we’ve liked and the step up in trip will hopefully bring out even more improvement so we’re very hopeful of a bold show.
3:45 Handicap
Good Listener (Thore Hammer-Hansen)
He ran very tardily at Wolverhampton but that will have sharpened him up nicely for a race like this and I think he could be interesting on his Handicap debut and the extra furlong will help as well. Stall 4 is ok and he should bounce off the ground. He’s unexposed and has a great chance under Thore who takes a valuable 3lbs off his back.
4:15 Maiden
Fascinating Shadow (Sean Levey)
He ran quite green on debut but shaped well under the circumstances and that experience would’ve done him plenty of good from both a fitness and mental point of view. This is usually a pretty decent Maiden but any rain that falls will definitely be in his favour, being by Fascinating Rock who absolutely relished the soft, and he won’t disgrace himself.
4:45 Handicap
Theotherside (Sean Levey)
She’s a tough filly with a good attitude who has some decent form to her name and is back down to a decent looking mark. This is obviously a very competitive race, and you can make a case for all of them, but she’s in good form at home and with a bit of luck she can go nicely.
