SATURDAY 16 JULY
NEWBURY
1:15
Hectic (Pat Dobbs)
He is a very smart colt whose work has been very good at home and we like him a lot. He was due to run at Windsor on Monday but I thought the ground was plenty quick enough first time out so we kept him for this where the going should be slightly better. He’ll come on for the run, but he’s been away to gallop so will hopefully run a big race.
2:56
Happy Romance (Sean Levey)
She’s run two nice races this season without really looking threatening but this is a drop down in grade and she’s won this race before so there are plenty of ticks in the right boxes. We’ve done very little with her at home all week and she comes here with a very realistic chance.
3:30 Super Sprint
Galore (David Egan)
She’s ran with promise on both starts to date and is a nice filly in the making. Whether she’s quite up to winning a Super Sprint at this stage I’m not too sure but should be winning races and has a bright future.
Miami Girl (Rossa Ryan)
She brings plenty of class into this race and got the job done at Windsor last time off the back of a very good effort in the Queen Mary. A quick five furlongs is just what she wants because she has bags of speed and will surely go very close.
Swift Asset (Pat Dobbs)
He stepped up nicely from his debut run to score decisively at Windsor last month and this race has always been the plan. Whether stall one is a good thing only time will tell but he is a very smart colt and comes into this with a serious chance.
Armour Propre (Sean Levey)
She was unlucky not to win at Carlisle last time but she doesn’t know she was beaten and she’s improving all the time. She’s from the family of Gordon Lord Byron so there’s plenty of speed in her pedigree and she will run very well at probably decent odds with Unibet.
Land Of Summer (Hayley Turner)
She’s another nice filly who will appreciate the drop back down in trip because she’s got bags of pace and a contest like this should help give her a nice tow into the race. Her work has been good and she’s another who has solid claims
4:05
River Pride (Sean Levey)
She’s taking a step down in grade and going up in trip which will suit and she’s dropped a few pounds as well. I was happy with her work earlier in the week and she comes into this race in good shape.
NEWMARKET
1:42
Tessa (Sam Hitchcott)
She’s run with promise on all three starts and stayed on nicely at Newbury last time so the step up seven furlongs will suit and she brings valuable experience into the race.
Pink Lily (Dane O’Neill)
She’s a lovely filly by Sixties Icon who will appreciate further in time but this looks a good starting point and she is ready to go. I expect her to improve plenty but her work has been pleasing and hopefully she can put up an encouraging display.
2:16
Kodius Sangarius (William Buick)
He’s generally quite consistent but is plenty high enough in the weights now, but he ran well at Chepstow last time and a reproduction of that effort would see him with a very obvious chance.
DONCASTER
6:15
Royal Dress (Alec Voikhansky)
She ran very well at Newmarket last time and is a filly who will be winning races. This looks quite a decent Maiden though, and I think she’ll be a much more suitable betting proposition in Handicaps.
The Big Board (Liam Keniry)
She was quite keen on debut but still ran with lots of promise and I think she will have learnt plenty from that run. As I’ve already said, this could be a decent Maiden but hopefully she won’t disgrace herself and I’d fancy her to come on from her first run.
