Well, as far as comeback tests go, this couldn’t be much sterner. The fact that the Champion Hurdler Golden Ace is available at 25-1 to win tells you as much. Of course, Constitution Hill’s campaign unraveled after excellent wins in the Christmas and Unibet Hurdles last season, falling at Cheltenham and Aintree, and then turning in a lack-lustre effort at Punchestown. So obviously he has plenty to prove once again, but we know how good he is when it all comes together and we have been delighted with his work and his schooling, so let’s see what the all-important action on the track tells us. Certainly, with the younger models, The New Lion and Anzadam, both full of potential, this is a tough assignment, but that is what sport is about. Finding out.
