Jango Baie
In many respects, we got away with it with his late, late show in the Arkle, as I think we all agree he isn’t really a two-miler, but the victory certainly went to confirm he had the heart to go with his talent. This is obviously another good Grade 1 but the step up in trip is an obvious positive, as is the fact that he has gone so well around here in the past, albeit over hurdles. And that Arkle win arguably sets the form standard. We’d clearly be hopeful of a big run.

Obviously, we were all gutted with his fall in the Champion Hurdle, as we felt we had him spot on there and the way the race panned out you’d have to think he would have gone close. But he fell, and that’s jumps racing. We have done a lot of work on his jumping since, and he is ready for this challenge. Whether or not he is best, or as effective, at this 2m4f trip we will soon see, but he won this race two years ago, so he clearly stays fully. That said, Lossiemouth arguably presents a sterner challenge this time around, and Wodhooh is an improver, but we know how good our horse is.
