Old Park Star

I thought Hurricane Pat was tremendously impressive in beating Soldier Reeves at Sandown and he could be a formidable opponent here, even if we are getting 2lb from him. And Japetus looked good last time. But we are really looking forward to seeing what Old Park Star can do, upped in grade. We knew we had a smart prospect on our hands after Ascot but he really surprised us with the manner of his wide-margin win at Cheltenham last time, even if the second has come out and been well beaten since. This will tell us where we stand with him. Cheltenham suggested he can hit a lofty level, but let’s see.

Akimos

He ran below expectations at Leicester last time, but that clearly wasn’t his true running. He clearly has his chance, in what is clearly a very competitive handicap, on his earlier, narrow second at Sandown, and he is a lightly-raced 6yo.
