Lingfield

Swapped

We thought he would give a good account of himself on his debut at Cheltenham but he possibly needed the run and experience more than we thought. But we knew he was a nice sort and he proved that when winning for me, from a seemingly well-fancied newcomer, in an all-weather bumper here last time. This is clearly a big step up for him, as you would expect for a race worth 40k, and it sounds like we could all be playing fiddle to the German horse – though Our Jester was very impressive for me when winning at Ascot, and he must have a big chance – and he has a 4lb penalty, but there is plenty more to come from him, and we know he handles the track well.
