Jeriko Du Reponet

I think he probably has to step up to take such a competitive handicap as this, but we think the potential is there. Or we hope it is. Our horses weren’t right when he was pulled up in the Supreme here last year, and obviously chasing plans were scrapped after what happened at Sandown in November, but we were happy with his run at Exeter last time, so let’s see what he can do. And hopefully the first-time cheekpieces will help.

Lucky Place

Last year’s winner Teahupoo clearly sets the standard, but Lucky Place is an up-and-comer and we like to think he will give the favourite a race. Fourth in the Coral Cup here last year, he has progressed in both his victories this season, and he beat a very good yardstick in Gowel Road in the Relkeel last time. The other question he has to answer, other than if he is Grade 1-class, is his stamina. But he has been finishing his races off well over 2m4f and, who knows, three miles may improve him further.
