He was hugely impressive for me on his first start back after a wind op and a break at Kempton in January and then he went to the Betfair Hurdle off a 7lb higher mark, and improved again to finish a good third. He only went up 1lb for that, so hopefully he remains nicely treated, and I can see this test suiting him.

Chantry House

I think most people would agree it is a wide-open Gold Cup, and I’d like to think Chantry House has a good each-way chance at the very least. Sure, he needs to step up on his form this season but Nicky would have only had his eyes on this prize since Kempton and the Cotswold Chase win was a stepping stone to this. He won the Marsh here last season, has finished third in a Supreme, and let’s hope a career-best beckons today. We’ve been very happy with him.
