Bold Endeavour
We have an excellent recent record in this race and I wouldn’t rule out a big run from Bold Endeavour, even though he is probably one of the outsiders. He won his first two over fences after joining us but I was never really happy with him from an early stage in the Reynoldstown last time, so I wouldn’t judge him on that run, even though he probably ran okay in the circumstances. We drop him back in trip, which I think will help, and we obviously switch him back to hurdles here, and he is 5lb lower in this discipline, so I think you can give him a chance. He would probably prefer better ground but there isn’t much we can do about that. Hopefully, the first-time cheekpieces will help him travel into the race a lot better, too.
A quiet day for me then, I will give you my idea of the winners of the other races, too.

We run Persian Time in here and hopefully he has a sporting each way chance, but I suspect the market leaders will be hard to beat. Impaire Et Passe seems to be the horse on the lips of many.
2.10pm Brown Advisory
With a view to riding Balco Coastal in the Turners, I want to see Gerri Colombe and Thunder Rock running big races here. I split those two in the Scilly Isles and I think that is strong form. Gordon’s horse looks the one to beat.

3.30pm Champion Chase
It’s a very tricky one to call but maybe the recent rain will swing it Energumene’s way?

4.10pm Cross Country
The betting and the form book says it is between Delta Work and Galvin and it is hard to argue with that. Again, maybe the ground will possibly be more in favour of last year’s winner Delta Work.

They left Final Orders in the Arkle at the five-day stage but this looks the best option for this progressive chaser. But it’s a hugely competitive race, as usual.
