We have been lucky enough to win this race three times in the last few years, and I have been on board for two of those victories, and I’d like to think we have another reasonable shout with Birchdale. I actually haven’t ridden him before but he looks to have a fair weight and a nice, lightly-raced profile, and he comes here after an encouraging third in a jumpers’ bumper at Kempton last month. He also has Cheltenham form, winning a Grade 2 here as a novice and finishing a decent eighth in this race last year.
