I didn’t feel right after riding at Chepstow on Wednesday, so I have decided to give myself a few days off.
With such a big weekend in store, with the likes of Jonbon in the Clarence House Chase, I have to be fair and honest with the trainers, owners and the horses if I am not feeling 100 per cent on my comeback from a broken collar bone.
It would be unforgiveable if I got beaten on a horse like that, on whom I should have won, and I am sure James [Bowen] will do a great job in my absence.
Of course, it is hugely frustrating, but I am sure a few days rest will see me right soon enough. Others have endured much bigger bumps in the road than this.
