He has a nice pedigree, being by Westerner out of a mare who won a point, bumper and over hurdles too, and he goes nicely enough. He may need the experience here, but let’s see. The form horses don’t set too high a standard.

He ran a nice race for us on his stable debut at Huntingdon and hopefully he can be better and sharper here. The step up in trip could well suit him, too.

It’s fair to say we expected a little more from him on his chasing debut at Uttoxeter, given how good he was over hurdles. But at least he got dropped 2lb for it and we know he is better than he showed there. We haven’t lost the faith in him.
