2.10pm Chepstow

Fraser Island

All his best form came on a decent surface on the Flat but he has shown he can handle plenty of cut in this sphere. He showed a fair amount of ability on his first three starts before running below par in the Fred Winter, and he shaped very well when third at Kempton on the Flat last month. The break he had prior to that will have served him well as he had been on the go all throughout last summer. So he has had a recent run, he is on a fair mark on 129 and of course he has scope for a lot of improvement after just four starts over hurdles. He has a decent chance in what is obviously a very competitive handicap.

2.45pm Chepstow

Paris Dixie

We haven’t seen her since she won a bumper for Julie Camacho in February last year, so she has to overcome a very long absence if she is to be winning for us on her stable debut. But she clearly has ability, and hopefully she can give us plenty to build on here. She looks very well in herself at home but this does appear a good race though, with two or three promising sorts – and probably more – ranged against her.

3.50pm Chepstow

Severance

He was a pretty good horse on his day for Mick Channon on the Flat. He was rated in the low 90s after showing form on quick and easy ground over middle distances – including this summer – so he could prove a decent recruit if transferring that ability to hurdles. He can be a bit buzzy at home though, so he will have to settle, but he jumps well. Paul Nicholls’ horse does set a good form standard, though.
