Fantastic Lady
She showed a great attitude to beat Zambella at Market Rasen over 3m on her return, finding plenty when asked, and I think she is fairly weighted here. She went up 5lb for that Listed win – the runner-up won easily at Carlisle next time – but she can race off just 3lb higher here, so she is 2lb well-in. Her form from last season also showed that this shorter trip is not an issue at all. It is obviously a very competitive handicap and this is her first experience of the track, but hopefully she is set to give a good account of herself.

First Street
I was obviously up in Newcastle when he made his return in the Gerry Feilden but we expected him to go close there, as he had been going well at home, and he put up a very good effort to give the runner-up 25lb and a pretty clear-cut beating in the end. This represents a step up in class for him, and giving 5lb to Epatante clearly won’t be easy, but that Newbury win and his County Hurdle second to State Man here means he is not one to underestimate at all. He is a horse on the up.

Theatre Glory
Unfortunately, she departed early in First Street’s race at Newbury but a clear round will hopefully see her be competitive here. This is clearly a very strong race but she proved herself a progressive mare in the spring, she is lightly-raced, she has course form and decent ground suits her. And hopefully her mark gives her a fair shot at this.
