Kempton Park
1.30pm
Heatstroke
He was a talented horse on the Flat a few years ago and he brushed aside a very long absence to win for us at Huntingdon last month. He took really well to hurdling there. He will have to improve to follow up here – the runner-up there has been well beaten since – but you’d expect him to progress and this decent ground suits him. And, like most of the races at Kempton, this has cut up a fair bit.
2.40pm
Burrows Edge
He was making a belated reappearance here last month, and he ran a blinder when just touched off by a progressive horse on a winning roll. It was a bunch finish and he has gone up 2lb for it, but he must have leading claims here after that highly promising return to action. He would have needed that run, too.
5.00pm
Shishkin
He joined us after winning his Irish point impressively in November, and he has shaped very nicely at home. He has a good pedigree too, and hopefully he will give us plenty to build on, win or lose. He will be better for a summer at grass, but he is ready to go.
