Act Of Innocence
I’m not sure many were expecting a full field of 22 for this race, with balloted-out horses missing out as well, so this is one fiercely-contested Turners. And this is going to be a big test for these youngsters. We have been delighted with Act Of Innocence since he joined us, beating a good horse at Newbury before running very well in defeat trying to give a lot of weight to the juvenile Minella Yoga at the same track next time. We upped him in trip for the Sidney Banks last time, and he saw out the extended 2m3f+ very well there. This will obviously be more of a test of stamina here, but I think he will get the trip well. And he has pace, too. There is hopefully more to come from him, and he has his chance, for sure.
2.40pm Cheltenham
Iberico Lord
He won the Greatwood here in emphatic style and went on to win the Betfair Hurdle, but it is fair to say his form has been a mixed bag since. But he relished the step up to this 2m5f trip when winning the Lanzarote last time and he has to be a contender here if reproducing that form, for all he went up a hefty 8lb for it. As with the first race, this couldn’t be more competitive.
