We were considering letting him take his chance in the Champion Hurdle earlier in the week but this does look a far better fit for him. It was very nearly the perfect fit last season when he was second in the race, foiled only by State Man running off a mark of just 141. We are 10lb higher this time around but he has deserved that rise, and hopefully he can put a below-par run at Wincanton behind him. I just think that was just too much of a speed test for him. He has a definite each way chance once again, and hopefully having his wind tweaked since Wincanton will help him.

I have a feeling Ahoy Senor could surprise the shorter-priced horses in here. He came back to form in the Cotswold Chase last time, and I think an increased stamina test in soft ground will see him improve further.
