2.25pm Sandown
Constitution Hill
We knew he had ability before his debut for us here at the start of last month, but we just didn’t know quite how much given his laid-back style, and that certainly told us we have a hugely exciting horse on our hands. I was thrilled with him there and, as everyone saw, the way he flew up that Sandown hill was as rare as it was impressive. He finished off his race there like it was fast ground on a flat track.
This Grade 1 will obviously will tell us a lot more about him as he steps up in class – and there are some promising types in opposition, including Shallwehaveonemore, who is a horse I like – but he spreadeagled good sorts last time and we have every right to be very hopeful. The ground will be a lot deeper than last time and an unknown, but hopefully that won’t be a factor.
