I was happy enough with him on his reappearance run over hurdles, and the handicapper has given him a chance by dropping his chase rating to 149. He was rated 158 when we last saw him over fences in 2022 and we know he loves this place, having won the Marsh at the Festival here and the Cotswold Chase too, so hopefully he can put up another good show, especially with the field down to just five runners.

3.15pm Cheltenham

LUCKY PLACE

Outside of clear form choice Langer Dan, this is a very open race on ratings, though the mare Golden Ace is getting weight and has to be fully respected, too.  Our horse faces a very tough task at these weights as he carries a 6lb penalty for his recent win in the Grade 2 Ascot Hurdle – he had Golden Ace behind him there – but he is young and improving, so let see how he fares.
