KEMPTON
2:30 G2 Desert Orchid Chase
Shishkin (Nico de Boinville)
It’s been a rather long return to the fray for him, but we’re here and he’s ready to go. The ground is going to be plenty soft enough, which is a slight concern, but hopefully he’ll get through it and we’ve tinkered with his wind which may even bring out more improvement! It’s a very good race, as it should be, but he comes here in good form at home and has worked and schooled very well and if we have to make our own running so be it.
3:10 Handicap Chase
Morning Vicar (Nico de Boinville)
He ran well last time at Newbury on his first run back and that will have brought him on but I’m very scared about the ground because he wouldn’t want it soft which is unfortunately what he has here. The handicapper has dropped him a few pounds however and he might be able to run into a place if handling conditions.
3:40 Handicap Hurdle
Captain Morgs (Nico de Boinville)
He’s run well on all three starts this term and didn’t lose much in defeat at Newbury last time. I don’t think he’ll have any issues with the ground and much of his best form appears to be on right-handed tracks which is an obvious plus. His work has been very good and I rate his chance quite highly.
CHEPSTOW
12:30 Maiden Hurdle
Go Sacre Go (Ben Ffrench-Davis)
He’s progressing quite nicely and will have badly needed his first run back at Ascot last month. This looks quite a competitive little maiden and we should know where we stand after this race.
