She ran slightly below par last time at Ascot is much better than that and I think the step back down to a more suitable trip on slower ground will be in her favour.
This is a drop in grade and Dan takes a valuable 7lbs off her back which brings her down to a very attractive weight.
Q & A @SEVENBARROWS
@SlimBratts
Which horse taught you the most, even if it wasn’t your most successful?
It would have to be SEE YOU THEN. He was very tricky to do anything at all with, and his legs were like glass. He was certainly what you could call ‘temperamental’ and we had to learn how to get into his box without him kicking or biting the hell out of us!
We learnt to treat him kindly, with kid gloves, and let him be the boss. It certainly worked because he won three Champion Hurdles!

What’s next for the improving Calimystic?
That’s a very good question because unfortunately I cannot run him in the races I wanted because he hasn’t had three runs over fences. I was looking at Aintree and/or Ayr but he needs to run again so it’ll probably have to be a small race somewhere to get a run into him, which isn’t ideal because he takes time to get over his races so he’d probably only manage one more run anyway.
@AmyKins_1
Who’re some of the most promising young horses at the yard?
We are very lucky to have several lovely youngsters and obviously Old Park Star is at the top of the crop but there’s some nice Bumper horses including PRINCE RUPERT and MADAM SPEAKER, who ran very well in the Goffs race at Newbury last week. ROCCONTIER looked good at Market Rasen and has plenty of potential so should also be included.

Do you see Lulamba going for the Ryanair next year as a stepping stone to the Gold Cup the following year?
Yes!
@russel30434
Hi Nicky, are you going to run Manlaga again this season?
Yes, if it rains – she has to have soft ground.
What’s happened to Crystal Island, looked very impressive first time out.
He’s only a baby but I hope to run him again this season, yes.
@MED_1878
Will anything go over to Ireland this year?
We will have a large squad go over to Punchestown, yes, but at this stage I can’t really tell you who. Many of them will, however, carry the green and gold silks of JP as they will continue on to Martinstown to enjoy their summer holidays.
