CHELTENHAM

12:40

Wiseguy (Nico de Boinville)

He’s always been a horse we’ve liked, and I was impressed with him on chase debut at Exeter where he made a mistake two out but stayed on to win quite nicely. Three miles is definitely his trip, and he is built for jumping fences.

2:25

City Chief (Nico de Boinville)

Protektorat’s presence in the field has helped keep the weights down and I think City Chief comes into this with a solid chance.  He didn’t run at Sandown last week because he wouldn’t have enjoyed giving weight all round in atrocious ground, but he sneaks in nicely here and should go well.

Shanagh Bob (Nico de Boinville)

He won his Point to Point and then did the job nicely over two and a half at Plumpton on his first run for us, and only looked to be getting going at the end. Quite how good that race turns out to be, only time will tell, and it’s a big jump up into a Grade 2, but this chap is potentially very smart, and three miles around here is exactly what he wants.

3:35

Theatre Glory (Nico De Boinville)

She ran very well in a G2 at Ascot on her seasonal debut, and I think she might’ve improved a bit since then. Carrying 12 stone obviously makes things more difficult but she’s a strong mare with some very high-class form and I expect her to go close in these calmer waters.

DONCASTER

11:40

Kado De Joie (James Bowen)

He was placed in an AQPS Bumper, and this is his first run in England, but he has schooled well and as long as he relaxes, and does the right thing at the right time, he should go very close.

1:25

Pentland Hills (James Bowen)

We lost him a bit last year, but I must admit he seems to have regained his spark and it’s great to get him back on track. He has come down a few pounds, although still has to carry top weight, and I can’t get him any fitter than what he is at home; he does still look quite big, but he needs to run and will hopefully show up nicely.

3:15

Mister Coffey (James Bowen)

I think this is a good race for him. The track will suit, as will the better ground, and he much prefers going left-handed. He does have plenty of weight, and I know he’s still a novice, but it’s a good prize and it’s about time he broke his duck over the big ones!

HEREFORD

1:35

Call Me Lord (Daryl Jacob)

He’s just lovely, and part of the furniture at Seven Barrows. He’s shortly turning 11 and has to carry top weight, but is extremely consistent, always tries his best and he is there to give it his best shot.
