AS has been well publicised, this week has been rather testing for all of us but we had to make a decision with regards to Constitution Hill and I’m afraid we had to draw stumps on Monday. It is a terrible shame for everyone concerned but the results were not satisfactory, and you cannot go into Championship races like that, so the decision was made easy for us. I have no idea where he will go next, the main thing is to get him back to full health and then we can consider what options we have at the time.
We supplemented Iberico Lord for the Unibet Champion Hurdle and while I have to admit this was not the original plan, I had a chat with JP and AP and we decided that it was worth a shot. Obviously he needs to step up again, but he’s already rated 2lbs higher than when State Man won the County Hurdle, and look how much he has improved, so we believe Iberico deserves to be there and the ground should be ideal because he does like it soft.
I must admit I was slightly pleased to see that Mr Mullins has decided to run Ballyburn over two and a half, and not the Supreme, which makes the task a little easier for Jeriko Du Reponet. That said, Tullyhill and Mystical Power will be very tough opponents, but the form of the Rossington Main at Doncaster has worked out nicely and they should go a good gallop which will be in his favour. I’m very happy with our horse coming into this.
A very quiet Saturday for Seven Barrows, with just one runner, in the Mares’ Listed Bumper at Sandown, but hopefully it will be a case of quality over quantity!

Crazierthandaisy (Nico de Boinville)
She ran very well on debut at Huntingdon, and probably should’ve won if I’m being honest, but got bumped at a crucial stage which obviously didn’t help. This is a big step up, but that run will have brought her on plenty and she is a mare we like a lot. We won this with Luccia recently, so it’s a race we have a good record in, and she appeared to handle the ground at Huntingdon so I’m quite hopeful of a bold show.
