NEW YEAR’S DAY – CHELTENHAM
1:30
Chantry House (Nico De Boinville)
He’s now entering the veteran stage of his career, and we might look at going down the Hunter Chase route later this season, but he ran a solid race, over hurdles, at Newbury last time and has come on a lot for it. He’s rated much higher over fences, and this is, in fact, his first Chase start since that terrible fall in the Rowland Meyrick in 2022 which put him on the sidelines for quite a while. I believe he still retains plenty of ability and this small field will suit him well.
3:15
Lucky Place (Nico De Boinville)
I was delighted with his win in the Ascot Hurdle last time and, while we were set to go novice chasing, we’ll probably stay down this route for the time being because it seems to be working well! He’s still very unexposed and has run two good races at this track previously, therefore I’m reasonably hopeful of a bold show. He’s in excellent shape at home.
Happy New Year!
All that remains to be said is to wish you all a very Happy New Year and I hope 2025 is a healthy and prosperous one for each and every one of you.
I’d also like to take this opportunity to say a very big ‘thank you’ to all my owners who remain as loyal as ever and, of course, to my dedicated staff who do a fantastic job day in day out and keep the Seven Barrows show on the road. Their efforts and hard work are so massively appreciated every single day, but even more so at this time of year. I am extremely lucky and privileged to have such a wonderful back up team and I am immensely grateful to them all.
