Fantasy World (Nico De Boinville)

He was a pretty smart flat horse for Andrew Balding and makes his debut for us having schooled very nicely at home. He gets a lot of weight off the older horses which is the main reason we’re going down this route because it’s a nice place to start; whether that turns out to be the case, time will tell, but he’s enjoying his jumping and is in very good shape. I don’t want to go into Triumph Hurdles and things like that, because we have a few Juveniles waiting in the wings, but we hope he has a bright future over obstacles.

Alentejo (James Bowen)

He didn’t enjoy jumping fences so we’re switching back to hurdles and, on his day back in France, he was an extremely talented horse, but he has lost his way a little so Mr Cotton has kindly asked us to have a go with him and it would be nice if he could regain the winning thread – and he does love soft ground.

Lulamba (Nico De Boinville)

Everything is good with him but I do hope the ground isn’t going to be desperately testing as that really wouldn’t be the best idea to give him an unnecessarily hard race before Cheltenham, but he’s very well and I would like to get another run into him for experience more than anything else; he doesn’t particularly need a race but it would do him good to race against experienced chasers. Newbury has a lovely Chase track and we’ve used this with our Novices before.

Holloway Queen (James Bowen)

I was pleased with her the last time she ran, and two miles six furlongs is a good trip for her. The ground is also no problem, as she won on very soft at last year, and she jumps very well. She does have to turn up in the right frame of mind but she’s a good mare and it’s about time she showed what we know she’s capable of.

La Pinsonierre (Paul O’Brien)

She’s been ready to go for a couple of months but has unable to run for a few complicated reasons I’d rather not go into. She’s in good shape at home, although I am worried about the soft ground. She’s sound, fit and well and is finally allowed to run so here we are!
