BANGOR
Nusret (Freddie Gordon)
He’s a new recruit to us and brings some pretty smart form, under both codes, but his wind isn’t the best and he hasn’t run for a while so might just need it. I do also worry that this trip might be a little too far for him, but he’s very highly rated so there aren’t many races for him. This is nice starting point, however, and he likes fast ground. His sire, Golden Horn, is also doing incredibly well at the moment!

NEWBURY
Calimystic (Nico De Boinville)
He is usually James Bowen’s ride but we have suddenly realised that Nico has a strong chance of picking up some decent prize money in the David Power Jockeys’ Cup so we asked Mr Bowen very nicely if he would step aside this once and he kindly agreed. So ‘thank you James’!
We’ve had to take our time with Calimystic, but our patience has been rewarded because he’s developed into a nice horse with a bright future. I was delighted with his easy win at Doncaster last time and I’d like to think he’s come on again for it. This is another step up, but he’ll love the ground and is improving.
Bhaloo (Nico De Boinville)
Two and a half miles on good ground and back in a Handicap will be right up his street, and he won off this mark at Ascot earlier in the season. It’s a competitive race but he’s in great shape and comes into this with a very good chance.
La Pinsonierre (Nico De Boinville)
She ran well behind Jasmine Bliss at Southwell in the Qualifier for this and is now 7lbs better off at the weights with her, which could be enough to turn the form around. We’re putting the cheek pieces on and she’s in very good form at home.
Crazierthandaisy (James Bowen)
She wanted every yard of this trip at Warwick last time, so will definitely get further in time, and she’s a mare with plenty of ability. She might prefer a little softer ground, but this is a good prize and a fast pace would ideally suit. She quite easily comes into this in the colours of Kenny Alexander who’s enjoying a very good run of things at the moment!
Either Way (Adam Wedge)
She’s a pretty sharp mare who ran well in a Qualifier for this at Ludlow on ground that was plenty soft enough and she hated Sandown last time. This surface will suit better and hopefully she can run into a place.
Jasmine Bellevue (Nico De Boinville)
He can be very keen, and that was the case again at Hereford last time when he made a couple of mistakes before unseating the rider. The hood remains, and Nico takes over, and I’m hoping for a more accomplished effort this time around.
