Chantry House (James Bowen)
He’s always been a very high-class horse and was even our Gold Cup hope at one stage, but he suffered a nasty injury when falling at Wetherby which meant he had a lot of time off, so we decided to switch back to Hurdles where he has run well on all three starts this season. The Handicapper has dropped him to an attractive mark of 143 and, as long as he handles the ground, I think he has very solid claims in blinkers.
Hyland (Nico de Boinville)
He won his qualifier in October and has put up two decent efforts since, but I am concerned about the ground because he wouldn’t want it any softer. However, he is a very tough lad with a lovely attitude and if things go his way, he has a good each way chance.
Bold Endeavour (Daryl Jacob)
He’s a victim of his own consistency because he is still plenty high enough in the weights for what he’s actually achieved, but he did run very well here in December when he was a shade unlucky not to win. I’ve been happy with him at home, and he shouldn’t mind the ground, as long as it’s not too extreme.
Mill Green (Freddie Gordon) Dear Mill Green turns up here every year and never lets us down, you could set your watch by him! He’s now into the veteran stage of his career but has some very strong form, especially around here, and he won’t mind the ground under Freddie who takes a handy 5lbs off his back.

City Chief (Mr James King)
I was pleased with his run in the Classic Chase at Warwick where he finished sixth and the Handicapper has given him a couple of pounds back which will help. He appears to handle soft ground and we have a top rider booked.
