AYR

1:50pm

Dusart (Nico de Boinville)

Under the circumstances I thought he ran a fantastic race in the G1 Brown Advisory at Cheltenham last time and he appears to have come out of it in good form. The ground here will be much more to his liking and this should be easier than his latest assignment; although he’s coming out plenty quick enough and is 11lbs worse off at the weights with Dan Skelton’s horse (Sail Away) on their Leicester run, but Dusart is getting better with racing and he has a very obvious chance.

NEWBURY

1:35pm

Surrey Quest (Nathan Brennan)

He’s been very good all the way through and put up a decent effort in the EBF Final at Sandown last time. The handicapper has dropped him a few pounds which is an obvious help and we’ve kept him nice and fresh at home so he comes into this in good shape and the better ground will be in his favour.

2:45pm

Tweed Skirt (James Bowen)

I think the step back up in trip will suit and she’ll like it around here. She’s already gained valuable Black Type but has been pretty solid all the way through and this should be less competitive than the Mares’ race at the Festival where she had absolutely no luck in running whatsoever. She has a little to find on official ratings but is in good form and is more than capable of running into a place.

4:30pm

Hurricane Le Dun (Aidan Coleman)

He ran much too freely at Doncaster on debut which effectively ruled out his chance but that was  good education for him and if he can relax and get into a rhythm, I’d like to think he can go well. He’s a big brute of a horse who will make a beautiful novice hurdler next season but one more run will do him good and he’s a very capable person.

Boom Boom (James Bowen)

I was extremely happy with his first run at Kempton behind a smart horse of Chris Gordon’s (who re-opposes here) but this lad has definitely improved a lot since then and I’d expect us to finish much closer this time.

CHEPSTOW

5:07pm

I Am Rocco (Paul O’Brien)

He ran a nice race in a bumper at Warwick in February and will have learnt plenty from that experience. This looks a pretty competitive race but he’s in good form and should run well.
