CHEPSTOW
Babytaggle
2.10pm
18/1 from 40/1
P2P winner BABYTAGGLE has more than halved in price despite showing no significant form under rules. Perhaps the switch to fences is set to inspire with the better ground also, perhaps, in his favour. An interesting gamble under a useful 7lb claimer in a race we are paying AN EXTRA PLACE.
Doc Carver
3.15pm
3/1 from 9/2
DOC CARVER, who comes here on the back of a wind op, has come for good money this morning our traders report. He's dropped in grade today and his in form handler reaches for the tongue tie for just the second time in the horses career. If the horse has been struggling with his breathing he could be well ahead of his mark and it seems that's what punters have latched onto!
WOLVERHAMPTON
Dodgy Bob
4.15pm
8/1 from 14/1
Punters will be hoping DODGY BOB doesn't run dodgy in the opener at Wolverhampton today. The 6yo ran with real credit behind two well weighted rivals (one claiming, the other with an age allowance) at this track just three days ago so he arrives here in form. Back in handicap company, and with a decent draw, it's not hard to see why punters thought double figure prices were a touch large!
Island Flame
6.15pm
11/1 from 20/1
The case for ISLAND FLAME looks fairly simple. Although his recent form leaves a bit to be desired, he was a course and distance winner off this mark five runs back (August last year). He's having just his second run for Les Eyre and if he can rediscover the form of his win (and subsequent course and distance second off of 3lbs higher next time out) he's guaranteed to be there or thereabouts, and certainly outrun the early 20/1 odds. It's a bit of a leap of faith but some punters decided that it was a risk worth-taking at an each-way price in a race we are paying AN EXTRA PLACE!
