Leo’s Luckyman

I don’t know much about him other than his pedigree but he is by Cable Bay out of a mile winner, so hopefully he will be able to go a bit. And the stable had a winner at Lingfield last week.

She hasn’t beaten a horse home in her last two starts but those performances came in Listed races and this is obviously a massive drop in class to a 0-75 handicap. On the form she showed last season then she would have a big chance, and she has run well in blinkers before.

Zofelle

This is the first time I have sat on her but she appears to have run well over 1m on the July course last month, and she has been eased 1lb for it. She has won on fast ground and I think the step back to 7f will suit her, too.

Moveonup

I have ridden him a few times and he looks to have run a near career-best at Brighton last time. He has more to find here against higher-rated horses, but he does at least come here in good form.

Nottingham

I see she has missed a couple of engagements of late but hopefully she can get on the track here and show us some promise. She is from the first crop of Muhaarar out of a well-related mare, so the pedigree is decent, and she showed plenty of speed when I galloped her. I think she will improve for the run, though.

Mostahel

He was a decent sort a couple of years ago, rated 93, but he hasn’t shown much since, and in three recent starts for Paul as well. But he has tumbled to a mark of 71 and his best form came over 6f on fast ground, which he gets here. The stable are coming into a bit of form, too. He could have a better chance than his recent showings suggest.

The Detainee

He ran well when second on fast ground at Chepstow and then ran okay in the soft at Haydock last time. The handicapper has left him on the same mark but, as a horse who stays 2m4f well over hurdles, perhaps the move up to 1m6f will suit.

Fly Lightly

I rode him at Lingfield earlier in the season when we were just touched off and he probably ran as well as he ever has when fourth at that track last time. That gives him claims in an open race, and this is just his sixth start, too.
