NEWMARKET

2.10pm

Sunblazer

He hasn’t shown his best form for a while but, on the plus side, he has certainly dropped to a mark that he can win off if he recaptures his best. He has come down another 3lb for his comeback run at Salisbury, his first start after a wind op, and he does have winning form on the July course, too.

3.20pm

Arabian King

This horse has also had a wind op, in his case after his debut effort. He looks to have shaped well enough here over 7f in soft ground last summer, and this half-brother to Arabian Queen will appreciate the extra furlong. He looks an interesting prospect

4.40pm

Philipine Cobra

She did it really well for me over 6f in the soft at York last time, and is a filly on the up. She is 7lb higher here but I don’t think that will stop her going very close, and any ease in the ground is a plus. I don’t think the drop down to 5f will be a problem as she showed plenty of pace at York.

5.15pm

Revich

I rode him when he won at Chester last season and he comes here on the back of a good second at Haydock last month. He has gone up 3lb but I still think he will go close here.

5.50pm

Battle Of Waterloo

This is another horse that I won on last season but he hasn’t hit those heights this year, including at Musselburgh last time. But he ran well at Lingfield the time before and has come down a bit in the weights, so he has possibilities.
