IT'S Magnia Grecia for me in the 2,000 Guineas but I’m off to Goodwood.
Goodwood
1.35pm
Sassie
I rode her a few times last season, winning on her twice, and she signed off for the year with a good win over 2m at Kempton. She went up 3lb for that win, which seems fair enough considering the form has worked out pretty well, so she can be expected to give a good account here if straight enough. It’s a very competitive handicap, mind you.
3.15pm
Blue De Vega
Things didn’t look to fall his way at Kempton last time, but he had earlier shaped very well on his return on soft ground at Newbury. So any rain won’t be an issue, although he acts on any going. I think he is on a mark from which he can be competitive but you need everything to drop right in these sprint handicaps.
4.55pm
Monsieur Lambrays
He was beaten a long way on his return at Nottingham, and you wouldn’t immediately think he has been let in lightly off a mark of 74. But he shaped nicely at Newmarket last October, this is a more realistic assignment than Nottingham, and of course he is very lightly-raced and the step up in trip should suit on pedigree.
