I rode him when he finished a good fifth at Ascot last month and the handicapper has eased him 3lb for a couple of below-par efforts since. So he is weighted to give a good account of himself, and he has form with plenty of cut, too.

The stable continues in good form and this filly was also in really good order when we last saw her in June, winning at Goodwood and finishing a narrow third in a Listed race at Salisbury last time. She went up 3lb for that, but it looks deserved and the wet weather forecast suggests the ground should be ideal for her. She should go well, even off her new mark.

Gentle Look

He has never raced on anything softer than good, so the ground will be an unknown if we get more rain. But he didn’t run badly over 7f at Newcastle last time and has been eased 1lb for it, and a first-time hood will hopefully help, too. The extra furlong is clearly no problem, either.
