He clearly didn’t run up to form at York last time, but I imagine the ground was probably too soft for him there. The handicapper dropped him 2lb for that, which means he is already 1lb lower than when a good second at Newmarket previously, and he was rated a lot higher than this in 2018, too. If the first-time visor, replacing cheek pieces, works then he is definitely handicapped to play a role, and the quick ground will be fine for him.
