IT'S great to have four decent rides at Goodwood on a big Saturday.
I may not be at Newmarket – my pick would be Ten Sovereigns in the 2,000 Guineas, by the way – but I like to think that all four of my mounts have winning chances.
Goodwood
1.35pm
Love To Breeze
She ran really well to finish third on her return at Lingfield last month. That looks to be her best run yet, and the first-time tongue-tie that she wore there remains on here, so it looks like that made a difference. The handicapper has upped her 1lb, but she comes here in good form and was only just touched off here last summer. She looks to have a good chance.
2.40pm
Manton Grange
He wasn’t beaten far on his reappearance last season and continued to run well throughout the campaign. He ran well off this mark when placed at Wolverhampton in December, and the cheek pieces that he wore when winning convincingly at Kempton in 2017 are back on here. I can see him going well.
3.15pm
Harry Hurricane
He has got some good runs to his name at this track and he comes here in cracking form having just been touched off at Brighton earlier in the week. He is actually 1lb lower here, so he has a fair chance in an open race.
4.55pm
Ignatius
This one is 1lb out of the handicap but he comes here on the back of a recent Nottingham win, and is effectively only 5lb higher here. It’s a tougher task but hopefully there is more to come from him.
