We obviously haven’t seen him on the Flat for a fair while and he was pulled up in a novice chase last month, but he is a very interesting runner all the same. He was a progressive hurdler in 2018 and he had just the three starts when trained in France, winning the last two, and over 1m6f in the soft on the latter occasion. He looks on a fair mark on his raw ability over hurdles and is unexposed in this sphere too, so he is very much a ride I am looking forward to, especially as more rain doesn’t look like it will be an issue for him.

He clearly has a lot to find with Ventura Rebel and the other highly-rated horses in here, but he won his maiden well at Brighton and wasn’t beaten far at all in the Windsor Castle, despite beating only three home. Hopefully, there is more to come from him – and this is just his fourth start, remember – and he can nab some of the valuable prize money. Mr Cole has his horses in good form, too, and this colt could improve for first-time cheekpieces, too.
