NO ride for me in the Oaks, but I do think I have a pretty decent chance on Arigato beforehand.

But in the fillies’ Classic, I go for impressive Chester winner Mehdaayih to lead home Pink Dogwood and Manuela De Vega.

He always tends to need his first run back – he came on a ton for his comeback effort last season when winning on his second start – and let’s hope he can repeat the trick here. It is obviously a hot handicap and he needs to show a bit more than last time – though he was too fresh in that small field, and hopefully he should settle better with a stronger, even gallop here – but he has been eased 1lb in the weights, will love the ground and he has a win and a third to his name from just two starts at this track. It’s a hot race but he has no weight on his back and is weighted to be competitive, and I’m happy with his draw in 10. I think he will run a big race.
