Naadirr

The last time I rode him he won a decent handicap at Doncaster at the start of last season, though his form tailed off a fair bit after a Group 3 third in Italy on his next start. But at least he came right back down the weights and there was a lot more promise in his return effort back at Doncaster last month, his first start after a wind op. The handicapper has played very fair in easing him another 2lb here and, providing he doesn’t get too far back early on, I can see this course winner going well.

Never Surrender

I won a Chester maiden over 1m2f on him a couple of seasons ago and he ended last season in good form, winning over 1m4f at Epsom in the summer and then proving this 2m trip was within his compass with a good second to the progressive What a Welcome, who re-opposes here, at Ascot in October. He went up 3lb for that defeat and has never raced around here, but he is obviously unexposed at the trip and I still think he could be on a workable mark.
