Byron Hill
I haven’t sat on him before but he appears to have run okay off slightly higher marks than this, and I guess his winning chance here revolves around whether gelding has improved him, alongside another winter on his back. And Charlie has his string in good nick, too. Plus it helps that this race has cut to just five runners.

Norman Kindu
I thought he probably ran a little better than it looked at Beverley last time and he came down 2lb for it. The distaff side of his pedigree gives you plenty of encouragement as he steps up in trip and he could have a fair shot at this.

Red Poppy
I ride another for Charlie here, although I haven’t sat on this filly before, either. But we know she comes here fit and in fair form, not beaten far in spite of only finishing seventh over course and distance last time. In fact, you can mark that run up a fair amount as James got no kind of run and the race was over by the time they saw daylight. She has a decent chance here off the same mark back against her own sex.
