Sunday Star
She posted a very good performance when winning a 6f handicap off a mark of 95 at Newmarket in July, and a repeat of that performance would make her competitive here. She hasn’t reproduced that effort in two subsequent starts, and was well beaten at Pontefract last time, but trip and ground will suit and Ed’s horses are in great form.

Sleeping Lion
It was very difficult to come from off the pace at York last month, so his run there was better than it looked. His earlier second to a progressive horse at Ascot puts him in with every chance here, and conditions are in his favour. He looks to hold a solid chance in a race that has cut up a lot at the overnight stage.

Sneaky Getaway
Normal rules apply in these staying races and that is Stradivarius will probably win and Dee Ex Bee will follow him home. Clearly, my horse needs to improve over a stone to get near that pair but at least this former bumper winner is lightly-raced and progressive, and he won very easily off a mark of 88 at Tramore last time. He has also won on fast ground, so let’s see how he fares against the big boys.
