They have to be pretty good if they win first time up at two for us. She did it very nicely when beating a subsequent winner at Yarmouth on her debut and then built on that with a good fifth in the Dick Poole, a race from which the second came out and won the Cheveley Park and the third finished runner-up in the Firth Of Clyde. She will have to progress a good deal from that run to be winning this though, as she meets some much higher-rated fillies here like Nazuna, but the extra furlong should suit. The ground is an unknown.

Strait Of Hormuz

This is the first time I have got on him but he looks to be a horse firmly on the up on the evidence of his Doncaster win last time. Unfortunately, the handicapper agreed and stuck him up another 6lb. which is pretty much the most he could have done for a ¾ length win, but he has won on soft and, being by Sir Percy out of a High Chaparral mare, this extra 2f could well being about the necessary improvement. It is a clearly a very warm handicap though.
