Clon Coulis
She could never quite get into it from off the pace at York last time, but she wasn’t beaten far and we know that the recent rain will present no issues for her. She is ground-versatile but she ran her best race when just touched off on soft in the Hunt Cup, and a return to that Ascot form puts her right in the mix here, even if the down-in-class, Pretty Polly winner Maqsad looks the clear form choice at her best, and there some progressive and unexposed sorts in here as well. She wants a good pace to aim at, and there are two or three in here that like to go forward.

Blue Gardenia
She hasn’t perhaps progressed as expected from her Musidora run earlier in the season but she has run consistently well since the cheek pieces have been applied, most recently at Longchamp. She isn’t that far shy of these at her best, she is a course winner and the rain is definitely in her favour, too. She needs to improve a bit on her recent showings to be winning this, but she certainly isn’t out of it.
