Ryan Moore
Ryan Moore is one of the most experienced jockeys currently riding at Ascot and what’s more he is also the most successful in recent years.
Since 2017, including all Ascot meetings not just the Royal ones, Moore has had 51 winners from 345 rides (14.78%.).
He has also had more than just one great day at Royal Ascot in years gone by and his best tally – and a record – was his 9 winners at the 2015 Royal Ascot meeting.
He has also been Royal Ascot leading rider at the meeting on eight separate occasions. He was top jock last year with seven winners.
All told Moore has had 73 Royal Ascot winners at Royal Ascot during his career. That places him behind only Frankie Dettori who has had 77.
Frankie Dettori
This will be Frankie Dettori’s last Royal Ascot meeting before retirement.
His first ride at the meeting came on board Rain Burst back in 1989 (5th Coronation Stakes) while his first victory came in 1990 when aboard Markofdistinction in the Queen Anne Stakes when he was just 19.
In total he has a record 77 Royal Ascot winners and has been the leading jockey at the meeting on six occasions – the first of which was in 1997 and the last being 2020.
He rode his first Royal Ascot Group 1 winner in the Gold Cup aboard: Drum Taps in 1992 – a race he has won 8 times. His best ever Royal Ascot return was his 7 winners in 2019.
His association with John Gosden has yielded him 19 winners, but it was his time with Saeed bin Suroor which has proven the most successful combination with 24 wins successful races:
Frankie Dettori has been the toast of punters for many years – his biggest priced winner at the Royal meeting was Invisible Man at 28/1 in the 2010 Royal Hunt Cup 2010.
